Coming out of left field, Panasonic just unveiled what is perhaps one of the weirdest format combinations ever at CES. They announced the DMP-BD70V, which is a VHS/Blu-ray dual player. I have no idea who on earth would ever need such a device, but rest assured, Panasonic has all three of you covered.
The question is, who will want to watch VHS when they have a blu-ray player in the same deck? What is the point? So much epic fail there. I could be wrong, time will tell for sure.

We are a video and film transfer studio on Long Beach Island and have found many of our prosumer clients still wish VHS playback capability, along with state-of-the-art BluRay capability.

Interesting Kubrick. What percentage of your customers overall would you say this represents?

Ya, I guess thats true that people still do have VHS. If it burned to Blu-ray then that would be something for people with a lot of memories on VHS. Interesting.
