Phoenix WiFi Radio Spits on FM’s Grave

Phoenix WiFi Radio

Haven’t you heard? Terrestrial radio has bit the big one. Dead. Kaput. Sayonara. But hey, that’s OK, because there are a couple of awesome alternatives that’ll make you wonder how you ever survived so long on the FM dial. You’re surely familiar with satellite radio, as it’s been in the news quite a bit lately, but what about Internet radio? I mean, you get a lot of music online already, right? Why not radio?

Probably because you don’t have a convenient way to listen to it. The Phoenix WiFi Radio is a standalone device that connects to the web wirelessly. No need to sit in front of the computer to enjoy it — enjoy it in the kitchen, bedroom, bathroom, or wherever. It can connect to over 10,000 online broadcasts, a number that puts satellite radio to shame. A nice feature is that if you want to stream music from your computer elsewhere, you can set up a personal broadcast for streaming. Just point the radio to the right source and you’ve got a simple way to listen to music from a source in another room. There’s even talk of integrating RSS feeds into it, allowing it to automatically download and stream podcasts for you. Good riddance, terrestrial radio. You won’t be missed.

Look for the Phoenix to hit our store sometime in the next two months for $199.
