Radiohead’s In Rainbows Finally Coming to CD

When it was first released a mere 10 days after being announced, the new Radiohead album, In Rainbows, was talked about more for how it was released than the content. Initially released only as a download that allowed listeners to choose any price they wanted to pay for it, it was a revolutionary move from one of the biggest names in contemporary music. But now that the deal has settled in and the record is finally coming out on plain old CD, how’s the, you know, music?
Luckily, the music lives up to the hype surrounding the album. If you’re a Radiohead fan already (and the chances are good that you are), then you know you’ll probably enjoy it no matter what. But In Rainbows is one of Radiohead’s best albums in years, sounding more adventurous than Hail to the Thief while not straying from the signature sound that made the band so incredibly popular in the first place. It’s a masterful album from one of the best bands of our generation, one that, in the end, will be remembered for the incredible music more than for the fancy way in which it was initially sold.
