Recording to SD Cards: The Best of Both Worlds

Panasonic SD Digital Camcorder

This Panasonic SDR-S150 3CCD SD Digital Camcorder with Leica Lens is the perfect balance between older tape-based camcorders and newer models with built-in hard drives. What’s convenient about this is that you can record digitally, so you won’t need to deal with rewinding and fast forwarding or with the loss of quality of your tapes over time. However, you also won’t need to worry about running out of space on your hard drive, as you can just swap the SD card out for an empty one.

In addition to the smart recording method, this camera has a great Leica lens with a 10X optical zoom. It can take nice 3.1-megapixel still pictures, allowing you to leave your point-and-shoot at home. The 2.8-inch LCD screen will let you preview your videos with bright clarity while you’re shooting, and the image stabilizer does a great job at reducing the blur that comes about when your hand is less than steady, especially when zoomed in. It’s an all around great camera, and with the SD card recording method it’s put into a class of its own.
