Rob Zombie Takes on Halloween

There is no shortage of remakes churned out by Hollywood, oftentimes to the detriment of my fond memories of the original picture.

One director who avoided the dreaded woeful remake, in my opinion, is Rob Zombie. An obvious horror aficionado, he took it upon himself to remake the horror classic Halloween. I thought it was fantastic.

Fans of gore will have a lot to enjoy in Zombie’s interpretation of Halloween. Unlike the original movie, the pacing of the story of Michael Myers and his murderous rampage is a lot more deliberate and straight forward, with very little detours in action.

Halloween is currently available on DVD and it will be released on blu-ray on October 21st.

Anyone that thinks Rob Zombie remaking Halloween did a good job, either didnt see the original, doesnt know anything about John Carpenter, or has very bad taste in movies all together. Halloween remake was a disaster and Halloween two was just plain moronic! If you like horror films that are filled with gallons of gore, terrible acting that must use the F word every 5 seconds, and make you laugh rather than scare you then Rob's films are right up your alley. If you want to see a film that doesnt use half the stupidity of a RZ film and one that actually is "scary", then go back and watch a John Carpenter film who was a true master at creating a horror film with a very low budget and not half the technology movie industries have at their disposal today , yet can still scare the pants off you. Rob made some cool songs, he should back to that because he is proving to be a very sad B film maker!
