Samsung Shows Korea the Future of Laptops

If you want to know where gadget and computer design is headed in the next few years, you need only to look across the Pacific to our friends in Korea. Many of our favorite new toys have been out there for some time now (like the LG Chocolate phone, for example), and stuff that they’re getting now is what will be hot and in the news during the next holiday season.

With that in mind, take a look at the laptop you’re going to want circa 2008: the Samsung SPH-P9000. Turning portable computer design on its head, this diminutive new laptop features a full-sized QWERTY keyboard that folds in two, greatly reducing the size of the unit when closed. It comes loaded with Windows XP and features a 5-inch display, a 30GB hard drive, 256MB of Ram and a 1GHz processor. Not exactly specs to take down the latest MacBook Pro, but for such a tiny machine those are plenty to get your basic portable computing tasks done. It’s never too early to start writing your letters to Santa for next Christmas, is it?
