Sim City DS Puts Urban Planning in the Palm of Your Hand

Sim City DS

SimCity was one of those classic games that almost everyone who grew up during the age of Super Nintendo is familiar with. Where else could you get excited about hiking up the income tax and the repercussions of placing an airport near a commercially zoned area? It made city planning fun and, dare I say it, exciting for a whole generation of kids.

And who says it still isn’t fun? Even if you didn’t end up becoming a city planner, there’s still something really satisfying about turning a bare patch of land into a huge, bustling metropolis. That’s why we’re so excited about Sim City DS. Based on the PC version of Sim City 3000, it squeezes amazing graphics and hours upon hours of gameplay into Nintendo’s popular portable. Just think: now you can build a city while riding the subway, become a mini-Bloomberg on your roof, or tear down a swath of office buildings from bed. What could be better?
