Sleeping Beauty Arrives on Blu-Ray

Disney will be releasing a 50th Anniversary 2-Disc Platinum Edition of the animated classic Sleeping Beauty on blu-ray October 7th.

Sleeping Beauty tells the tale about a beautiful Princess named Aurora. Princess Aurora was to be christened by three good fairies named Flora, Merryweather and Fauna. Flora blessed Aurora with the gift of beauty, and Fauna gives her the gift of song. Upset about not being invited to the christening, a dark fairy named Maleficent curses Aurora to die when she touches a spinning wheel’s spindle before the sun sets on her sixteenth birthday. Luckily Merryweather who had not yet blessed Princess Aurora was able to weaken the curse to make Aurora fall asleep instead of die if she were to touch the spinning wheel’s spindle. The only thing capable of breaking the curse is a kiss from her true love. We all know how the story unfolds.

The blu-ray edition has been fully restored and will be delivered in glorious 1080p, complete with DTS-HD MA 7.1 surround sound.
