If you take your photography seriously — really seriously — but you aren’t quite a professional, you’re what the consumer electronics industry likes to call a “prosumer.” You like your tech high end, but you don’t have a company bankrolling your purchases. You’re a pretty coveted market, and big companies love catering to you. Today, Sony announced their new line of prosumer cameras, and if you’re looking for a new, high-end DSLR, we might have your next big purchase right here. They’ve been looking out for you.
Unfortunately, Sony is staying pretty tight-lipped on the details of their new shooters. What we do know is that the “alpha series” will be Sony’s highest-end line. The cameras will feature Sony’s in-camera digital image stabilization to correct shaky shooting, and at least one will be released by the end of the year. Otherwise, you can expect detachable lenses, a nice big LCD screen, and a hefty pricetag for these guys. Just trust us: you’ll want one.
