Sony Delivers Its New XPERIA X1 Phone

Sony has just launched a new line of cell phones dubbed the XPERIAs, starting with its flagship X1. A touchscreen phone with a slide out full QWERTY keypad, it takes direct aim at similar phones such as the LG Voyager, Sidekick, and Helio Ocean.

Its big selling point has got to be the large 3-inch touchscreen on the front that provides iPhone-like access to the programs within. Unlike the iPhone, however, when it comes time to write a text message or an email, you can slide that keyboard out and have a physical keyboard to use for your writing, which is much better than a touchscreen version.

In addition, the phone sports a 3.2-megapixel camera, WiFi connectivity for surfing the web from a hotspot, and 400MB of internal storage for storing things like songs, videos, and pictures. Look for it to drop here in the States sometime this summer.
