Sony Ericsson Brings Its High-End Phones to the U.S.

Sony Ericcson T650

Sony Ericsson just announced their upcoming T650 phone today, and it’s a hum-dinger. While it might not have the flash of the iPhone or the fancy keyboard of the Helio Ocean, it’s packed with features that put it right up with those buzzed-about phones at the top of the cell phone pile.

What makes the T650 so slick? Well, it’s just a classy looking thing. It’s a candybar, which means you don’t need to slide it or flip it to get at it, which means less parts that are apt to break. Also, it’s got a 3.2-megapixel camera built in, which is much better than your average cameraphone. Then there’s the connection: it hooks up to a wireless 3G network, providing you with the speediest wireless web access you can get without hooking up to a WiFi hotspot.

And it’s coming to the States, which is a nice change of pace for Sony Ericsson. They’re usually one to sell all their best devices in Europe and Asia, leaving us with but their low-end table scraps. But no more! Come this fall, we’ll be able to enjoy the best Sony Ericsson has to offer. So move over, iPhone. There’s room at the top of the heap for more than one.
