Sony PS3 Slim Due for September Arrival

PS3 Slim

The Sony Playstation 3 appears to have gone on a diet. It’s smaller and slimmer. Feature-wise, it’s loaded for extraordinary entertainment. Introduced and displayed by Sony at Gamescom 2009, in Germany, news of the PS3 Slim sent raves of excitement throughout game fans and tech journals. It is expected to be available in September.

The PS3 120GB system is now slimmer and lighter than ever before. While the form factor may have changed, the PS3 system still comes with free access to the PlayStation-Network, built-in Wi-Fi, and hard disk drive storage for games, music, videos, and photos. Plus, the PS3 system is the only gaming console with a Blu-ray player to give you the best high-definition viewing experience on your television. With fives times the capacity of standard DVDs, Blu-ray discs gives you more realistic and immersive gameplay that can only be possible on the PS3 system with optional games such as Gran Turismo 5, Uncharted 2: Among Thieves, and MAG.

One expected retail version (98017) is expected to include PlayStation-3 120GB system; DUALSHOCK-3 wireless controller; AC power cord; AV cable; USB cable.

The PS3 goes far further than being a TV video game system. Beyond playing games and movies, the PS3 provides easy access and enjoyment of your digital media files. Save your CD catalog onto your hard •drive and create a playlist library. Upload personal photos from a portable memory device and view them in one of five slideshow modes for hours of enjoyment with friends and family. Connect your digital video camera directly to your PS3 or save your videos directly onto your hard drive for easier management and viewing. Download movies and TV shows from the PlayStation-Network (membership included).

As autumn marks the returning to school and frosty weather brings everyone indoors, the new, slim, PS3 is a welcome arrival.
