Spike Lee shopped for DVDs last week at J&R Music World. On his list: James Bond classics “Thunderball” and “Goldfinger,” and war flicks like “Anzio,” “Enemy of Women,” “Go Tell the Spartans,” “The Longest Day” and the Gregory Peck bomber adventure “Twelve O’Clock High.” But the director might want to consider a supernatural version of “Gypsy” as his next film. Lee lives in a townhouse formerly occupied by burlesque legend Gypsy Rose Lee. “When we moved in, my son saw her ghost,” the filmmaker told Webster Hall’s Baird Jones. “My son said she was a nice ghost, I guess because we both have the same last name. But we haven’t seen her since.”
