Sweet and Saxy: Pamula Luss Live at J&R, October 7th

Sweet and Saxy: Pamula Luss

October 7, 2009, J & R Music World celebrates the release of Sweet and Saxy (Savant Records/HighNote Records), the fourth album by the widely acclaimed vocalist Pamela Luss, produced by and featuring veteran tenor saxophone colossus Houston Person.

Pamela Luss will be performing and signing autographs in J&R Music World at 12:30 pm

As seen on the Jerry Lewis Telethon, Pamela Luss is blessed with a beautiful, lush voice, remarkable timing, and sumptuous intonation. She sings classic standards, swinging jazz, and worthwhile tunes from some of the unexplored corners of the Great American Songbook in a fresh and original way. Pamela covers a wide range of stylistic ground, from traditional ballads to pop hits to Latin songs and the blues, in interpretations that can be either catchy and finger snapping or slow and tender - and everything in between.

Pamela Luss, who is appearing at Jazz Standard in October and The Metropolitan Room and Chris’ Jazz Cafe in Philadelphia in January, has appeared at virtually every major venue in New York, including Dizzy’s (and Rose Hall) at Jazz at Lincoln Center, Birdland, Iridium, Sweet Rhythm, Feinstein’s, and the Weill Recital Hall at Carnegie Hall. “Everything about Pamela is first-rate, be it her solid chops, well-endowed voice, or skillful ballad delivery…The magical interaction between the warm sound of Person’s tenor sax and Luss’s expressive singing suggests the birth of a new, splendid partnership.” - JazzYell-Japan
