One of the little known features of the iPhone 4s was the introduction of a new version of Bluetooth. Bluetooth 4.0 offers feature upgrades on 3.0, with greater speed. A key difference is a change in the integrated chip (IC) and much lower energy consumption. As more products begin to adopt Bluetooth 4.0, wireless users can enjoy added use with more available wireless time.
After Christmas, the retail industry gears up for another year and they don’t wait at all. Earlier this month, right after the New Year weekend, electronics dealers shored up for the Consumer Electronics Show (CES). The second week of January brings NAMM (National Association of Music Merchants) and NRF (National Retail Federation). Whereas CES and NAMM focus on new products, the NRF focuses on how retail can focus on the service and relationship between the consumer and store access. The NRF convention and Expo was at New York’s Javits Center from 1/10 to 1/12.
Shoppers are looking for enhanced personalization and more choices in how they interact with retailers through social media, according to a recent survey conducted by the NCR Corporation. Many people prefer mounting their flat-screen HDTV to a wall and Peerless mounts are the preferred brand.
When flat-screen TV models were introduced, many customers were asking for adjustable wall mounts that were almost flush with the wall surface. The objective was a mount that closely resembled a picture frame. Until now, most articulating TV mounts only got as close as about 3 inches off the wall’s surface. As LCD and (especially) LED HDTV screens begin to get thinner, the engineers at Peerless Industries re-developed the TV mount design to accommodate them. In addition, the designs incorporate features that adjust for odd shaped rooms and viewing situations. The new mounts are being unveiled at CES 2010 in Las Vegas.
Peerless Industries’ new Slimline Ultra-Slim Articulating Wall Arm Mounts shrink that gap to just 1 inch, holding the TV nearly flush to the wall for a space-saving designer look while allowing the screen to be positioned for full visibility wherever viewers are sitting.
