RAID is an acronym for Redundant Array of Independent Disks. Until 2010, this term was strictly business. It meant that several hard drives could be linked together and teamed for massive data storage needs. Now, with the availability of high-definition movie downloads and other graphic assets off the web, arrays of drives are more common at home.
An array is like a shelf or cabinet for placing several hard drives. Drobo provides these cabinets along with the firmware that helps you manage storage from your PC or Mac computer. You place your hard drives in your Drobo and you’ve got control of massive information as if it were stored on one huge drive. Like the Three Musketeers, it’s one for all and all for one!
On Sunday 2/27, according to The Huffington Post, a bunch of Gmail users signed in and found that their accounts had been effectively wiped clean. Due to an internal error, 150,000 gmail accounts were erased. People lost emails and vital storage.

Are you a digital packrat? Do you refuse to delete things, just in case you might need them later? Sure, you’ve had those N’SYNC MP3s since high school and haven’t listened to them once in years, but maybe you’ll rediscover them someday! You never know, after all. And why delete all those games you’ve installed [...]
Completely unlike the current housing market, the hard drive market is rife with huge, spacious products for prices that are far, far lower than they were a few years ago. Back in the 90’s, you could spend $500 on a 10GB hard drive and you’d think you were one savvy shopper. These days, they don’t even make iPods that are 10GBs any more and the first 1000GB (or 1TB) hard drive just went on sale. Has the whole world gone mad?! Who cares? All that matters is that you can get lots of space for all of your music, movies, photos, and documents for less than a dinner for two at Nobu.
How much space are you looking for? You can go from a measly 80GBs to 500GBs, nearly 6 times the space, for less than twice the price. And if you’re feeling really crazy, you can even get a 750GB drive for not much more. Sure, it’s not as exciting as finding a 1500 square foot apartment near Union Square for under market, but what the hell do you want from us here? Just buy a hard drive and be happy with the little things.
