  • Consolidate Desk Space with the iHome iH41BR

Looking for a sweet little iPod dock that doesn’t take up too much space? Check out the iHome IH41BR. The iHome IH41BR is great because it’s compatible with most iPods (classic/nano/mini/touch). It includes all the variable plates to dock your iPod, a remote control, a power adapter, and it is pretty much plug and play. Acoustically, the sound is surprisingly good for a mono speaker and much better than what I had previously. The layout is very straightforward; both the unit and the remote control are easy to understand and extremely easy to use. I keep it here in the office and it’s a great way to consolidate and keep clutter down to a minimum.

    Pros:

Easy to read LED Good sound for a mono speaker Compact and clean design Aux input to play back non-iPod sources Nice big snooze button

    Cons:

iPhone users will hear a slight staticky buzzing right before an incoming call and when data is syncing. It’s not very pronounced, but it does happen every so often. No Radio. Not a deal breaker for me, but might be for some.

Basically, if you need a compact, inexpensive dock/alarm clock that sounds good, iHome’s Rotating Alarm Clock is a contender.

  • Speakers with Personality

Don’t deny it. These new ipod docks by Speakal are ADORABLE. But they aren’t all just looks, you know. These 2.1 stereo systems have multiple speakers, a 9w subwoofer and a remote that will work with your iPod. Have an older iPod (or Zune)? No problem. The iBoo, iPanda and iPig all come with different dock connectors to make sure almost any generation will work properly. Another great feature of these docks is that they will also connect to other devices besides an iPod. Hook em up to your gaming console, your PC, your phone…whatever!

And the sound is great, too. The shape of the system allows for 360 degrees of audio. No matter where you are in a room, the speakers will spread the music out evenly.

Whether you want them for a dorm room, your office, or your kid’s bedroom, these speakers are sure to be pleasing to the ears and the eyes.

This ain’t your grandpa’s alarm clock radio. The iLuv HD Radio is more than just an alarm clock radio. It’s capable of receiving AM/FM HD radio signals. • The iPod Touch is the iPhone Without the Phone

The new Apple iPhone looks pretty amazing, but who wants to deal with canceling their current cell phone plan, paying a hefty early termination fee, then signing on with AT&T, which may or may not be your first choice in cell carriers? No worries. You can have all the music listening, touch-screen having, WiFi connecting fun of the iPhone minus all that phone junk with an iPod Touch.

It’s got that magical touchscreen that you know about, and it can connect to the web at any WiFi hotspot. In addition to surfing the web, it can also download songs directly using the iTunes WiFi Music Store. You can get it with twice the capacity of the iPhone, 16GB, which will hold 3,500 songs for your listening pleasure. It also plays video, automatically switching between portrait and landscape modes when you turn it. Who needs the phone with all that stuff?

  • Polk miDock Brings Sound Quality to the iPod Dock Market

There are loads of iPod docks out there, but let’s face it: most of them sound pretty lousy. By trying to be small and portable, like the iPod, they end up skimping on speaker quality. If you want a way to turn your iPod into your home stereo as well as your portable music player, you’ll need to invest in a dock with a bit more heft to it.

The Polk Audio miDock Studio Speaker System for iPod is such a dock. It actually has some bass to it, featuring Bass Reflex Side Ports that’ll pump out low end sounds much better than smaller docks that force it through tiny speakers. And sure, it’s not exactly portable, but why do you need your iPod dock to be portable? It’s supposed to be the home for your iPod when you aren’t on the go. So go ahead, invest in a dock with some heft. You won’t be moving it around much anyways, and you’ll be glad your music actually sounds good coming out of it.

  • The iJet Makes Your iPod Wireless

The iPod is a great little device because it changes the way we deal with our music collections. Rather than having racks and racks of CDs or LPs, we’ve got hundreds of albums stored in one place, on a device smaller than a deck of cards. It makes carrying our music around easier, but it also changes how we listen to music at home. CD players get much less use, and the iPod becomes a wee little jukebox in the living room.

The problem is, you need to get up off the couch to change songs and sort through your collection. What you need is a Advanced Bridging IJET2WAY-W iJet Two-Way. It wirelessly connects your iPod to your stereo, and the best part is that it lets you scroll through songs and albums on the remote. Finally, the future has arrived. You can sit on your couch and sift through your entire record collection in the palm of your hand, choosing what to play on the stereo. The future is lazy, and I love it.
