  • Valentine’s Gifts for Anyone

When you go seeking gifts for Valentine’s Day the first things that pop up are jewelry, roses, candy, and champagne. Honestly if you’re in a relatively new relationship these things are almost sure fire winners. For those of us that have been in it for the long haul, our significant others probably have enough jewelry for every digit, a rose bush in the backyard, stock in a chocolate factory, and enough champagne for a fountain. Why not try something a little different this year? Gadgets are fun and can be enjoyed for years to come. Let’s take a look at a few of my current favorites.

When the Micro Four Thirds cameras first appeared, Panasonic and Olympus stood at the forefront of this emerging technology. As the years passed more manufacturers entered the Micro Four Thirds arena adding new technological advances. • Panasonic Offers 3D in a Compact Camera

Panasonic took the lid off of their newest compact camera, the Lumix 3D1. This camera offers both still and 1080 video capture by utilizing two 4x zoom lenses. Probably the most impressive feature of this camera is its capability to capture 2D video and stills simultaneously because each lens has its own imaging engine. The 3D1 uses a 12 megapixel MOS sensor and captures video at 1080 HD at 60i. Panasonic’s O.I.S is incorporated into this mix to reduce blurring. There is a big 3.5 inch touch screen on the back with a 2D/3D switch on the top right for ease of use. The Panasonic 3D1 should be available in December at a price of $499.

  • 2011 Experience Amazing Tour Brings Panasonic To You

When it comes to national politics, we see candidates for office taking to the roads to meet and communicate with potential voters. Next year, those seeking to become the next President of the USA will flood roads. This year, one of the largest consumer electronics companies in the industry is touring major towns in the USA to get your attention.

Although Panasonic’s quality has maintained a high level of consistency over the past 50 years of marketing consumer electronics in the USA, its products haven’t been making touchdowns with customers over the past couple years. For three years, for example, Panasonic TV has been trailing Samsung, Vizio, and Sony in the HDTV market penetration.

  • Video: Panasonic Camcorder with Optical 70x Ultra Zoom

Panasonic SDR-H79K is a 60GB HDD/SD Card Standard Definition Camcorder with Optical 70x Ultra Zoom with Advanced Optical Image Stabilization and Easy Uploading to You Tube.

This camcorder records standard definition (MPEG2 – motion image) on to the hard drive and JPEG (still image) on the SD memory card.

This 70x zoom lens has the power you need to take dramatic close-ups or get remarkable shots of even distant subjects. But with long-distance zoom shots, even a tiny bit of hand shake has a huge effect on picture quality. That’s where optical image stabilization comes in. Panasonic’s Advanced O.I.S. shifts a corrective lens as you shoot to help eliminate the effects of hand shake, so you get clear, sharp shots even at high zoom levels. It’s an essential feature for getting the most out of this incredible zoom lens.

Many production studios are releasing movies in 3D. The success of the recent release, Avatar, demonstrates an enthusiastic appeal. Now it appears that speculation may become relaity as content and distribution networks partner to create 3D television within 2010.

In a separate announcement, ESPN said it will launch a 3D channel of its own later this summer, in time to broadcast the World Cup soccer tournament in June.

  • Skype goes HD on Internet TV at CES 2010

One of the trends appearing in Las Vegas at the Consumer Electronics Show (CES) is Internet Embedded TV. So far, HDTV leaders like Sony, Philips, Samsung, Panasonic and LG plan to offer Internet capability on selected TV models. Peer-2-Peer (P2P) Internet TV has been one of the alternative marketing means to provide streams of audio, video, and informational channels via broadband Internet connection through TV. Online streaming businesses like YouTube, Netflix, Hulu, and Pandora have been negotiating with TV manufacturers to set arrangements for the creation of P2P channels. One of these is Skype, famous for offering discount telephone calling via Internet.

Internet Embedded TV helps shift programming from Internet sources in direct competition with current Cable, Satellite, and Broadcast methods. This will open an entire new flow of TV entertainment through broadband Internet access.

Unlike a PC, TV is primarily a receiver. Websites need to embed their software as channels into the TV’s circuitry for initialization through broadband access. Continue Reading »
