Western Digital recently released a 4TB version of the My Book Studio external drive. The new My Book is both Mac and Windows compatible. The eco-friendly My Book runs cooler and quieter, while using less energy than comparable drives. With a Firewire 800 connection, speeds are lighting fast. Of course, Firewire 400 and USB 2.0 connections are also available making it very flexible.
The My Book Studio II is RAID enabled, and is configured for RAID 0 (striping) for extraordinary capacity and performance, or you can set it to RAID 1 (mirroring) for extra data protection. Data backup software is included. You can configure the automatic backups making data protection seamless. It is compatible with Apple’s Time Machine.
An included capacity gauge let’s you see how much space is left of a drive. If it is full, upgrading the drive is very simple. All you do is open the case and replace the existing drive. No screwdriver is needed at all. Does it get easier than that?
The 4 TB My Book Studio II is an awesome drive, you can’t go wrong with it.
