The Oldest Known Photo of Park Row

FLASHBACK ’71: As part of J&R’s 40th Anniversary Celebration, we are looking back at the history of Downtown NYC and J&R’s place in it.

For all the Downtown New York City historians out there, here’s an interesting photo.

In 1858, the two buildings at left, near the north corner of Ann Street, are now 1 Park Row. At the south corner of Ann Street is the P.T. Barnum American Museum (1842-1865). This photo was taken in 1858.
