The Sennheiser HD800 is Coming
First revealed at CES in January, the buzz for the Sennheiser HD800 has reached earth shattering levels. The HD800 thread at Head-Fi is closing in on 300 pages, and it hasn’t even been released yet! It’s a very interesting read, and it’s downright hilarious how some people are going into a frenzy over some headphones. I understand, I’m patiently waiting myself. At the very least, read the first post in the thread by someone lucky enough to have actually listened to the HD800. Click here for the thread.
For many headphone enthusiasts, the HD650 has been a staple in their headphone collection. I own a pair, and they are driven by my trusty Woo Audio 6 tube amp, and a PS Audio GCHA on the solid state side. Sounds incredible.
As good as the HD650 is, I eagerly await the release of the HD800 at the end of the month. I want to see how much better it can get. Day one purchase for me and the scores of others afflicted with this disease called audiophilia. “Sorry about your wallet” is the slogan on the Head-Fi forums, and when it comes to reference cans, it’s true. You want the best, well it will cost you. Think of it as stimulating the economy. Do it for America.
