The TI-89 is the Math Student’s Best Friend

With school starting up again in the near future, it’s becoming that dreaded time of year for millions of kids: back to school. And you know that that means that it’s time for the back to school shopping extravaganza, making sure they have everything they need. If your child is taking an advanced math class, the chances are good that they’ll be required to have one specific piece of equipment: the Texas Instruments 89 Titanium Scientific Graphing Calculator.

There’s a reason math teachers ask for this calculator by name: it’s the best. More of a mini computer than a traditional calculator, it’s got a large screen that can handle multiple rows of numbers and text, graphs, and graphics. It can be programmed to do formulas for you, and it’s even powerful enough to play some games. Yes, a calculator that can play games. If that’s not a great selling point for high school kids, I don’t know what is.

The TI-89 is an excellent calculator. My pre-calc - calc 3 teachers banned us from using them in class because they can do differentian and anidifferentian for you. Excellent tool for Math, Science& engineering majors.
