The WD TV HD Media Player – Home Entertainment Redefined

It seems like the next frontier of home entertainment are media players that give you playback access of all your audio and video files on your HDTV. Let’s face it, it’s awesome to have access to everything at your fingertips, from the comfort of your sofa.

Up until a few years ago, your only option was to have a full fledged HTPC (Home Theater Personal Computer). Not so anymore. Today, there are a myriad of devices that offer media playback of your stored audio and video files.

One such device is the WD TV HD Media Player. The WD TV has really been making waves, and it’s really easy to see why. Apart from the fact that it is much more affordable than the competition, the ease of use and seamless integration with USB devices is fantastic. You could plug in two USB drives and have access to them both simultaneously.

Navigating your media can be done either via list view or thumbnails. The media library feature lets you view your media by media type in one menu, regardless of where it is. Since the WD TV has an HDMI output, video playback is up to 1080p, which is blu-ray quality.

With the sleek, modern profile of the WD TV, it would be a fantastic choice for anyone looking for hassle free playback of their videos, music and photos in the comfort of their living room.

    Since the start of media players they have taken the world by storm and for the better. I was still using the old vcr to record tv episodes until I discovered PVR and after mp3's I couldn't listen to my favourite songs because I had to use my computer and with the kids always using it it was quite a drab. Since I got a media player my life was more pleasurable because I could listen to my favourite songs and watch my favourite movies on this one device. Thank you Media Players.
