The Wii has been a huge success for Nintendo, with its fun motion-sensing controller capturing the imaginations of tons of people who never were into gaming before, but that doesn’t mean it’s been doing great on every level. The online aspect of the Wii is weak to non-existent. But that’s about to change.
That’s because the first game that you can play online with your friends is finally arriving: Mario Strikers Charged. It’s a soccer game that lets you play using characters from the Mario universe, much like Mario Kart is a racing game that lets you use the same characters. And in that vein, it’s got the same lighthearted air about it and wacky powerups. If you’re looking for an ultra-realistic soccer experience, look elsewhere, but if you just want a fun sports game to play with your friends here and elsewhere, you really can’t go wrong with Mario Strikers Charged.
