While several versions of iPhone and iPad seem to have omitted a slot for memory expansion cards, it takes a company to come up with a convenient wireless solution. The result is AirStash.
Wearable Inc. and Maxell today announced a partnership to distribute AirStash, the first and only wireless flash drive with media streaming and two-way wireless document transfer capability. AirStash is a perfect companion to the iPad, iPhone and iPod touch for anyone who wants to view, save and share documents and media on the go. Wearable’s engineers created the concept. Maxell provides the digital media (SDHC) memory that fits in the slot.
Running out of storage on your iPad or iPhone? Take a look at AirStash’s A02 wireless USB flash drive. Simply insert an SD card (up to 32GB) in the AirStash A02, connect the drive to an iOS device via WiFi, and you’re ready to stream contents from the SD card to your iOS device. The AirStash A02 works with the company’s iOS app for file, audio or video transfers or streaming.
An AirStash+ app for iPhone, iPod touch, and iPad is available from the iTunes app store. AirStash+ is a native app that provides all of the functionality of the AirStash web app, plus photo import functionality and easier connectivity to the AirStash. AirStash+ lets you import photos from an SD/SDHC card to your iPhone, iPod touch, or iPad in full resolution or at a reduced resolution for on-screen viewing. Swipe through your photos to preview them without importing them, then import just a single photo or an entire directory at once. You can also delete photos from your card after importing them so you can free up space for even more photos.
The great news is that there’s less of a need to decide how much memory you want your iPhone or iPad to have. You now have an external source to provide more storage space, as needed.
President John F. Kennedy once said, “Our most basic common link is that we all inhabit this planet. We all breathe the same air.” On a planet where iOS dominates, AirStash helps make breathing and living much easier.
