This week’s new releases are a little different. Not much in the way of pop music, except for the new
Erasure album/DVD, On the Road to Nashville.

This is good, because it leaves room for albums you may not hear about otherwise. For example, there’s We All Love Ennio Morricone - a tribute to the man whose music defined Westerns. Everyone from Metallica to Yo-Yo Ma all cover their favorite pieces by the legendary Morricone.

The latest by Lucinda Williams, West, is a treat for anyone who like down-home country-rock with a beautiful voice.

It’s also worth your time to check out Van Morrison At The Movies: Soundtrack Hits — tons of great songs you heard in movies, but don’t remember.

For a good dose of uplifting soul, Gerald Levert’s latest, In My Songs has what you need.
