Upcoming Live Events: The Funk Brothers & Richie Spice

In two weeks J&R gets two notable visits. Wednesday, Feb. 21st the stores are graced with The Funk Brothers’ presence. You know most of their songs, even if you never heard of them; they’ve played on almost every major Motown hit from the 60s and early 70s. From The Temptations’ “Papa Was A Rollin’ Stone” to The Supremes’ “Reflections” (which they built an instrument for, because no synthesizers could produce the sound they wanted), they created music that defined a generation. Don’t miss this rare chance to see legends of soul perform.

Two days later, reggae master Richie Spice brings his island beats to the mainland. It’s perfect timing; his sunny dancehall anthems will remind us of the warm weather we’re all missing. Get down there and get your groove on, this Feb. 23rd (Friday).
