Watch On The Go, Sans iPod

When Apple added video functionality their super-popular iPods, the idea of watching video on the go suddenly became a mainstream thing. It’s no longer strange to see someone watching an episode of Heroes on the train, as the most popular consumer electronics device of the last decade now has the feature built-in. That doesn’t mean that the iPod is the best way to watch video on the go, however. No, the iPod is a gateway to mobile video, but it’s in no way the best way to watch out there.

The Apex Digital EZ-Go Personal Media Player MP2000 is designed to handle video while you’re out and about rather than having the feature tacked on as an afterthought. The 3.5-inch screen provides a bigger viewing area than the iPod, which is the single biggest way to improve the viewing experience. The 4:3 aspect ratio is the same as your TV, making shows fit well, and you’ll be able to store up to 80 hours of video on the 20GB hard drive built in. If you’re gonna be serious about watching video on the go, you might as well get something designed to suit your needs.
