The holiday season is typically dead time for album releases. There are a few albums that came out this past Tuesday, but it’s mainly quiet and relaxing music. It’s almost like the record companies know people might be hungover, so they’ll want to pick up something that won’t make their heads pound. This week sees a new one by Julio Iglesias, Romantic Classics — guaranteed to make your date melt over a candlelit dinner. Two classic James Taylor albums get remastered & re-released: Mud Slide Slim and Sweet Baby James. They’re a sure pick for your next drive through the country. For a trip down memory lane, Carly Simon will also be releasing her latest, Into White. If you need something with a little bump, pick up the latest Elvis comp, The Essential Elvis Presley.

There’s a lot of interesting stuff coming out next week, though. Fans of U2 will want to check out their new single, Window In The Skies. You can watch the video on YouTube by clicking here. Evanescence releases Lithium Pt. 1 & Pt. 2 the same day. Two live CDs come our way from Austin, TX - one of America’s music capitals. Alt-country rocker Neko Case releases Live From Austin, TX — not to be confused with Johnny Cash’s Live from Austin, TX which hits the same day. If you want fun, dreamy pop we recommend Time Being by Ron Sexsmith. Classic pop gets the modern treatment with The Four Seasons Entertain You. The first three Green Day EPs also get re-released on a single CD, 1039/Smoothed Out Slappy Hours.
